Questions to ask your mentor

This week I have prepared many hours on what I should be asking my mentor/ entrepreneur.  Here is just a few questions that I wanted to ask my mentor/entrepreneur. These questions have been on my mind and I hope to ask a few of them in my next phone call.  1. How did you land your current role? 2. Did you envision this is where you would be five years ago? 3. Can you tell me about a time when you had a difficult boss? How did you handle it? 4. How did you learn to embrace failure? 5. What’s the most important leadership lesson you’ve learned and how is it valuable? 6. Tell me about a recent setback and how you recovered? 7. Was there ever a job position that you applied for and got, but you weren’t 100% qualified? 8. How did you build the skill of always speaking so engagingly in front of others? Something also that I wanted to ask is, "where can I improve in my life?" I'm always looking to progress and become better and I could use all the tips and tricks I could ...

Week 08 - Hang in & Hang on

Something that I learned from this week was not to be in the rush of things. I read the talk "However Long and Hard the Road by Jeffrey R and Patricia T. Holland. The talk starts out with this person asking them for their tuition back because they didn't get married in all fun. The theme of the start of the talk was talking about those that are worried about their social life & how some people are struggling. Jeffrey R Holland talked about keeping your head up when struggles come up & to have a sense of humor. Also to not waist your time walking on your lower lip about what is not. He asked that we become excited about our chance to grow and develop and become. Was really happy I had the time this week to read the talk & really help understand perseverance & really to endure to the end with excitement and happiness for the future.

Week 07 - Developing Habits/Goals

This week I have really been focusing on my future and exactly what I need to do with my life. I have come to realize that I need to develop crucial habits in my life to help me get where I want to be in life. this week I have been reflecting back on  time here at college. It has really been hard to see how college has been beneficial to me in reasons of education. For me college has been one of the best networking times of my life & I have made friends at college that will be my friends forever. If college has offered anything to me thus far that was valuable to me it would be the friendships I have made. I say this because in school we go to college to get a degree and ultimately get a job in a career field we desire. After thinking about what I want for my life, I want freedom. I want freedom in my time & what I can make. I got thinking about my life and how if I went through with my degree that I would end up getting a job in some corporate america job...
